WAF TECHNOLOGY
Technology drives change in all sectors of business.
WAF is in touch with the creators and users of the latest technology in acadamia and business to understand how it works and might be useful to automotive companies.
Wales is moving toward being a low carbon economy with tremendous implications for the automotive sector and WAF is managing the implications of this change with dedicated personnel.
LOW CARBON VEHICLE CLUSTER
Ieuan Wyn Jones, Minister for the Economy and Transport, Welsh Assembly Government, announced the new cluster early December 2009. With the support of the automotive industry led by WAF and financial backing from the Welsh Assembly Government through the Enterprise Networks Fund, the cluster started operating in January 2010.
This collaborative venture brings together all businesses in Wales developing or manufacturing low carbon vehicle technologies and encourages them to work closely together to invest in research and development, develop new IP, and commercialise new products. One key activity is to get businesses and universities working together to unlock the potential for innovation and new business opportunities.
